Peavine Creek as it runs through Emory Village is wilder than you may think.
The beautiful waterway is home to three big animals all spotted recently at nearby Burbanck Park at Clifton and South Oxford:
two otters, a blue heron and a deer with a fine rack of antlers.
Emory and neighbors have worked for more than a decade to restore natural habitat along the creek, starting with removing the Burbanck home from the stream buffer. Water quality now is clearly improved enough to support these larger species dependent on Peavine. Happy to share Emory Village with them.
