Why support Emory Village Alliance?
Our work is year around. For nearly two decades, the Emory Village Alliance has worked hard to make the Village an attractive, safe asset for you, our neighbors. Some years, like 2020, are harder than others.
We take pride in our community as we care for and manage the public spaces of our 11-acre Village. We are neighbors, business leaders, and Emory representatives who together have donated thousands of volunteer hours. Our primary sources of funding are our board members and annual contributions from the community.
Even in the face of the pandemic, we accomplished a lot together in 2020 including working with DeKalb County to install signalized pedestrian lights and signs on North Decatur Road at the CVS crossing. Our quarterly volunteer work days maintained the plaza, sculpture fountain and streetscape planters, and we installed lights in the roundabout. We hosted the safe, socially distanced 8th Annual Open Streets, and mounted colorful banners throughout the village to give it more of a sense of place.
- Our vision includes more streetscape improvements on the block north of Oxford, crosswalk repairs in front of CVS and near the roundabout, walking paths to the village, more events, and other projects that will attract visitors and businesses alike.
Such improvements will require tens of thousands of dollars, and your contributions are very important to match other funding sources. Please help us keep the public spaces within the Village vibrant, well-maintained and actively programmed, so that businesses may flourish in the return to normalcy. With your support, the Village will become an even more sought-after place to shop, eat and live!
