The Eighth Annual Open Streets Emory Village inserted some fun into 2020 with a “Covid19” edition that included a mix of virtual and socially distanced events. For four days in October, neighbors enjoyed specials at Village restaurants and tried out events that ranged from bike tours, to architectural and creek walks, sidewalk chalk art and pottery art, concerts, virtual 5K and dog contests, gymnastics, a duck race and much more.
If your dogs are pooped out from too many walks during this pandemic year, relax —enter the 2020 Dogs from a Distance Contest without ever leaving home!
Send your photo(s) and a short video (30 seconds max) to email@example.com. (Extra credit for submissions photographed in the Village!) We’ll post the winners on the Emory Village Alliance website and Facebook in the following categories:
• Your best friend-and-you-look-alike contest
• Best dressed dog
• Best trick (video plus one still photograph required).
• Best pandemic pooch (Grand Prize)
Please include with your entry the owner’s name and contact information, pet’s name, breed (or whatever), and age and description of your best friend (canine, not human). All entries must be received Thursday, October 22, at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Deadline extended to end of the day Thursday).
No charge to enter, but donations to support the work of the Emory Village Alliance are welcomed.
Expect prizes that any dog would love. Winners will be announced on Sunday, October 25 on emoryvillage.org and Facebook. Woof, woof!
(Extra bonus: Sign up for this and most other official Open Streets events to be entered automatically in the Peavine Creek Duck race!)
